Christian Nesmith was born and raised in Los Angeles, comes from a musical family, and was immersed in music literally from the time of his birth. Having the musician Michael Nesmith as his father gave rise to pursuing music from age 5. At 16 he joined his first band Sable which gained national notoriety, and later was in the band OFF which was a mainstay in the LA music scene in the late 80s and early 90s.

Christian has also been an independent musician and composer for nearly 40 years and has placed songs in both Film and TV (Blades of Glory, The Hills Have Eyes, Lionheart) and many commercials for companies such as AOL, Budweiser, Chevron, Chevrolet, Burger King, Citibank, ESPN, Infinity, Pennzoil, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Starbucks, SBC, among scores of others.

Christian has toured worldwide and played with a variety of artists such as Air Supply, Debbie Peterson of the Bangles, Doug Pinnick of King’s X Poundhound, Vox Lumiere – A Silent Movie Rock Stage Show, Led ZepAgain as Jimmy Page, and Circe Link. He also toured for 9 years with The Monkees from 2012 to 2021.

Christian’s theatre credits include Musical Director of 4 separate productions of the musical HAiR including the first ever production of HAiR in Moscow, Russia produced by Stas Namin, and the musical director of The LA Weekly’s 2007 Best Musical of the Year HAiR produced by Michael Butler. Other productions include The Rocky Horror Show at Los Angeles’s Tiffany Theatre and The LA Weekly’s 2008 Nominated Best Musical of the Year Hedwig.

Christian has over 10 years of music teaching experience at School Of Rock, Urban Home Schoolers, as well as dozens of one on one students both young and adult and still continues to teach.

Perhaps his most significant body of work, Christian along with his wife of 22 years CIrce Link, has released 14 original albums independently and Circe and Christian have garnered a significant and loyal fanbase sustaining an independent career in an otherwise label-driven music industry.

Additionally he has produced and engineered both individual songs and full albums for over 20 independent Los Angeles artists.

Christian Nesmith continues to be fully active in his musical life, producing, engineering, mixing, teaching, and just releasing his latest album with Circe in August of 2024 called Arcana with another album already in the works.
